Oils on canvas give a close-up of two evergreen trees extending their branches of greens, and browns over the dark brown of the forest floor. Not much sun sees the ground there – though there may be a hint of sky given by the blues throughout – but maybe it’s simply the shadows that fill the spaces. Still and heavy, we feel the weight of the forest landscape through these two trees.
