Is the cowboy going to rope the dog? The tension of roping is tamed by the pale pastels we might see in a desert environment. The eye travels from brown dog to the peach fence to the red cowboy hat and back to the dog via the black lasso and saddle strap, around and around like a lasso. The white horse seems laid back and unconcerned…just another day at work.
